We’d Rather Show Than Tell
While we can explain who we are and what impact Perseus can make for you, we believe Perseus is best appreciated through a live demo. So we invite you to take 15 minutes to see for yourself how spending less than an hour to setup Perseus can save you hours of time.
Security Software For Analysts Created By Analysts
My name is Joe Kovacic. I was a senior security analyst for a Fortune Global 200 company. Our small IR team was responsible for over 100,000 Windows endpoints. So I understand firsthand the challenges and demands of working as a security analyst.
Despite having numerous best-in-breed tools at our disposal, we had no way of quickly and accurately determining whether a computer involved in an incident was infected with persistent malware. This was frustrating to me because I was acutely aware of how much more quickly and thoroughly I could conduct an investigation if I had this information at the start of my investigation.
Instead, I had to spend my time attempting to make that determination myself, hoping each persistent component of the attack created an artifact I could trace back to its source. And if the incident didn’t involve any persistent malware, every minute I spent looking for persistent malware was a minute wasted. All the while, I had to hope that more time-sensitive incidents involving active threats didn’t require my immediate attention.
You shouldn’t have to assign a priority to an incident without knowing if that incident involves a threat that is active. You shouldn’t have to choose between being thorough and conducting your investigation efficiently. You shouldn’t have to work your way backward to determine if malware is persisting on an endpoint when that information can be provided to you before you even start your investigation. Knowing whether persistent malware is present on a computer shouldn’t be one of the last things you know; it should be one of the first. And that’s why I created Perseus.
Why Should You Use Perseus?
Nothing is more important than your time. That’s why Perseus is designed, first and foremost, to save you time. This means providing a product that helps you complete your investigations more quickly. This means providing a product that ensures you don’t waste time looking for persistent malware that isn’t there. And it also means providing a product that can be setup in less than an hour so you can recoup the time you spent deploying it within days, not weeks. Every aspect of Perseus is focused on saving you time.
We know from personal experience that being part of an IR team can be stressful. Looking at a case queue can be overwhelming when your security tools lack the data you need to identify the highest priority incidents. Needing to rework a case because you didn’t have the time you needed to thoroughly investigate it can be extremely frustrating. And it can be trying to find yourself on call because a threat that went undetected for days or weeks has escalated into a serious breach. Perseus helps you avoid these stressful situations.
Do What You Love
Everyone has aspects of the job they enjoy. But we have yet to meet an analyst who gushed about how fun it was to comb through thousands of rows of data in a table or to log into yet another pane of glass. That’s why Perseus is focused on reducing the time-consuming and tedious aspects of analyst work. Our developers appreciate that seemingly small product design decisions can have a huge impact on your experience. Perseus saves you time so you can spend more of it on the aspects of work you actually enjoy.
How Does Perseus Work?
Perseus turns a key capability of malware into its weakness: malicious persistence (the ability for malware to survive the reboot of a computer). Perseus is designed to be the most effective technology for the detection, visualization, and remediation of persistent malware. It integrates with your existing security technologies to acquire the data necessary to perform its analysis, eliminating the need to deploy yet another agent.
Perseus is unique in that it provides this critical persistence information to analysts before they begin their investigation. This has a profound impact on the triage and investigation process. But the impact Perseus makes is better shown than told. See for yourself by scheduling a 15 minute demo. We show how taking less than an hour to setup Perseus can save you hours of time.
